It is bad news for people who had been thinking of an upgrade to the new Nokia 808 Pureview in their contract segment with their favorite network providers. It is news that most networks in the UK have denied the sale of the handset on their networks that has left the customers bewildered. The phone would not be sale in the contract tariff and you would have to spend a hefty amount to get your hands on one of these gadgets. The smartphone would be available in the sim free segment at a jaw dropping £500. The prices have been confirmed with Amazon and the sale has already started. You can book your order and expect the handset to arrive anytime at your door steps.
The phone has already stolen the show at the Mobile World Congress trade show with the massive 41 MP camera but it runs on the Symbian platform that is considered to be the biggest drawback of the model. The network providers in the UK like Orange, O2, Vodafone, T-Mobile have already denied the sale of the handset in the contract segment. They said it would not the greatest of ideas to bring the new Symbian platform in the market when a major consumer base is going for the Android segment. These networks fear that this might prove fatal for them to launch the handset at cheaper prices as the only USP of the handset is the 41 MP camera. The handset has other features which are comparatively not very competitive to models such as the Samsung S3 and the HTC One.
